I know that I have presented my love of the Core Mobility Series in the past, but I’m going to do it again. This short series of movements is a great tool for mobility, stability and motor control. I love it as a tool for a warmup. I love it as part of a workout. It is great to do on the road with a team. I routinely use it in my hotel room as a personal workout when I travel. It is effective for injury prevention and on and on and on.
We have used and continue to use the core mobility series with our athletes for years, whether injured and healthy, with great effectiveness. It does seem complicated at the outset, but once you walk athletes through it a few times, they can typically move through it on their own.
I think that the easiest way to learn it is by watching it, so here is a video from a few years ago of the sequence. But, if you prefer to learn by reading, the Core Mobility Series has been published in NSCA’s Strength and Conditioning Journal. You can find it here.
